Parco del Primitivo
On the lovely Murge Tarantine rises Parco del Primitivo, a few steps away from the millenarian town of Manduria. The zone benefits of the typical Mediterranean climate, that means pretty warm summers, long and dry, softly soothed by the predominantly scirocco (hot dry) wind and particularly mils winters, when the poor rains of the year concentrate, and seldom have nervous character. Gets vital lymph from a fertile and wide territory, populated by a dense net of rustic villas and farms, dedicated to agricultural-breeding activity and predominantly agricultural economy, lays into an area intensively cultivated with vineyards and olive-trees that produce fine olive oil and wines. The zone also has a splendid sea view.
The wide vineyards and olive trees extent that colors our territory is frames by the areas of the Regional Natural Reservations, well harmonized with the colors and the story of the suggestive Ionic littoral, between the sea and medieval towers, especially Torre Colimena.
Regional Natural Reservations
The Reservations are an oasis of a marvelous and uncontaminated naturalistic beauty, include 5 areas (mouth if the Chidro river; the Salinas and dunes of Torre Colimena, the Palude del Conte and the Costiere dunes, CutCuturi Wood, Rosa Marina Wood) extended on 1081,34 hectares. Each of these areas distinguishes by peculiar ambient characteristics, unique both from the morphological and naturalistic point of view. The Salinas steel preserves the ruins of the antiques sites (the tower of the Salinas with the attached of the church of the sixteenth century) to witness the glorious past. Among the fauna species particularly suggestive it counts the Italy chevaliers and the pink flamingos.
